I was first introduced to “Ontology”, (the study of being) in 2003. I remember the exact moment I experienced that everything I held to be ‘real” about myself, others and the world as potentially “not real”. This moment changed my life forever. It was extremely confronting and I found the whole process perplexing. My mind wanted to argue and be still at the same time. What emerged was wonder and what I can best describe as the experience of seeing the world through completely new eyes. I knew immediately that I wanted to introduce the world to this unique experience.
Technically speaking, ontological coaching seeks to respectfully facilitate the transformation of being and causes deep rooted change. Clients become very different observers of themselves and the world effecting who they be in the world. This in turn causes significant behavioural change. Clients report that they relate more constructively with others and have an expanded view on what is possible for their future.
I truly believe it is the key to our continued existence on this planet.
